The purpose of the journal dia-LOGOS is to promote
philosophical research and dialogue among researchers in philosophy.

AUTHOR GUIDELINES

Submitted texts for publication in the journal dia-LOGOS must not have been previously published in any form or manner; authors also commit not to submit their text for review elsewhere before receiving the reviewers’ response, and not to publish it elsewhere after its acceptance for publication in this journal.

Texts will be anonymously evaluated for their scientific adequacy by experts in each subject. The Editorial Committee’s response will be communicated to the author within three months from the date of submission.

The language of the texts must be Greek. Their length (including notes and bibliography) should not exceed 5,000 words.

To ensure anonymity during the review process, the author’s details (full name, academic-professional status, email and postal address, telephone number) must be provided on a separate page.

Submitted articles must be accompanied by a short (about 200 words) summary in English.

The journal also publishes book reviews and presentations of philosophical studies in Greek or other languages. Such texts should not exceed 1,500 words.

The submitted text may be written in any font, in Word processing software, single-spaced; font size should be 12 for the main text and 10 for notes.

Notes should be placed at the end of the text. Note indicators are numbered consecutively and placed after quotation marks, if present, and before punctuation.

Where text is quoted, it should be within Greek-style quotation marks « ». Where there is an ancient quotation, it should be written in polytonic, as in the original.

In notes, references to bibliographic sources are made, for example, as follows: J. Baudrillard (1970), 58, D.L. Cairns (2003), 251, P. Piccone (1978), 45. The full details of the referenced source are given in the bibliography.

The bibliography is listed at the end of the text in alphabetical order, according to the authors’ surnames (font size 12). Book titles in the bibliography are written in italics, while article titles in journals or collective volumes are placed in quotation marks. Accordingly, the following examples are given (which also correspond to the three aforementioned indicative bibliographic references):

  • Baudrillard, J. (1970): La societé de consommation, ses mythes, ses structures (Paris: Gallimard, 1970).
  • Cairns, D.L. (2003): “The Politics of Envy and Equality in Ancient Greece”, in: Envy, Spite and Jealousy: The Rivalrous Emotions in Ancient Greece, edited by David Konstan and N. Keith Rutter (Edinburgh: Edinburgh University Press, 2003), 235-252.
  • Piccone, P. (1978): “The Crisis of One-Dimensionality”, Telos 35 (1978), 43-54.

The same technical specifications as for full articles should be followed when writing book reviews submitted for publication.

Texts (articles, book reviews, or book presentations) should be sent electronically, as an attached doc. file, to the email address: info@dia-logosphil.com

The deadline for submission of texts for publication in the first issue is February 28, 2011.

Texts that do not comply with the above instructions will not be accepted for review.
